Be Careful What You Wish For

I know that I have, along with many other people, clamored about the lack of a competent point guard on this wonderfully well balanced Detroit team.  Well, provided Joey D. doesn’t acquire some sort of point guard before the trade deadline, Joey D. may very well draft a point guard somewhere in the 2010 draft.

As of late Duke senior point guard Jon Scheyer has been on fire (the whole season really) and one must ponder if he’s playing himself into 2nd round consideration.

You heard it here first folks.

I wouldn’t mind him one bit as a 2nd round pick. Anything sooner wouldn’t be prudent. Seems to me that his ceiling is Steve Blake-ish, which isn’t bad. I like Blake. He does a lot of good things (well, at least he did in Portland, not sure how he’ll fare in LA). But he’s not really the kind of guy you want to spend a 1st rounder on.

Steve Blake-ish just with a more consistent shot (and prettier shot)

For sure on the 2nd round thing, especially since his ceiling is likely not that high.

Guy is a good player, just cracks me up.
